#SEGGER EMBEDDED STUDIO DEBUGGER NOT WORKING SOFTWARE#This is the only JTAG emulator that can add Segger's patented flash breakpoint software to a debugger to enable the setting of multiple breakpoints in flash while running on an ARM device which is typically hindered by the limited availability of hardware breakpoints. It is also repackaged and sold as an OEM item by Analog Devices as the mIDASLink, Atmel as the SAM-ICE, Digi International as the Digi JTAG Link, and IAR Systems as the J-Link and the J-Link KS. Segger is most noted for its J-Link family, which supports JTAG (Joint Test Action Group) and SWD (Serial Wire Debug) debug probes for microcontrollers that have older ARM cores ( ARM7, ARM9, ARM11), ARM Cortex-M cores ( M0, M0+, M1, M3, M4, M7, M23, M33, M85), ARM Cortex-R cores ( R4, R5, R8), ARM Cortex-A cores ( A5, A7, A8, A9, A12, A15, A17, A53, A72), Renesas RX, Microchip PIC32, SiLab EFM8, RISC-V. I sadly don't, I have an STLink V2 clone I could try with openOCD but I have never used it before. This article needs additional citations for verification. ![]() I can see the memory of the device from ATMEL STUDIO and it looks like stuff is happening as I step through the program but nothing happens when I free run it. When I attempt to run or debug the program from atmel studio it doesn't look like it even runs correctly, ex the blink program I compile runs fine when loaded onto the device from OZONE debug software using the ATMEL STUDIO produced ELF file, but when I try to program the device from ATMEL STUDIO nothing happens. It's a real Jlink EDU mini I just bought it form digikey. There is still the possibility that it's just down to optimisation - with SES and Ozone just handling that better? (although the fact it works in SES and Ozone does very much point to an AS issue) #SEGGER EMBEDDED STUDIO DEBUGGER NOT WORKING PRO#I have certainly had Atmel Studio debugging via genuine J-Link before, but haven't tried it recently.ĭo you have another debug probe to try - eg, on an XPlained Pro / Mini / Nano ? or a different J-Link ? If you are within the terms, it might be worth trying on the Segger forum: It kind of worked some of the time, but was not reliable.Īlso, the Edu has limited licence terms - are you sure you're within those? ![]() I made the mistake of buying a "J-Link" off ebay once - despite claiming to be genuine, it clearly wasn't. ![]()
